I’m being eaten alive!
Over Memorial weekend we went on our annual family camping trip, this time we had two new additions to our family, Josh my 7 month old nephew and Pebbles our almost year old dog. Mister and I decided to take Pebbles camping with us because I didn’t like the idea of boarding her and she be locked in a crate all weekend. To prepare for her trip she went to the groomers and got a short cut to her coat then I applied a flea treatment to her skin. All was well and we were off!
Two weeks later we find that she came home INFESTED with fleas! Ugh. We bathed her as soon as we got home, because she was filthy from the weekend, and didn’t see any fleas. Actually we didn’t even think about fleas then. Finally when I began being bitten like mad we realized and then saw how bad she was, since then I swear the dog has had like 20+ baths. lol We’ve set off foggers in our house, shampooed the carpets and furniture, sprayed the dog with an instant flea killer stuff, washed her bedding a few times, got rid of blankets that she lays on because of infestation and sprayed the carpets with more flea stuff. I’m still being bitten and she’s still scratching. Help!
So anyone with dogs and flea experience you got any suggestions? I need help because the warm weather is coming and I have a feeling its going to get worse.

Go to your vet and purchase Frontline. This stuff works great and of course working for a vet I should know. Don.t waste your money buying the OTC stuff. get the real thing. They also sale a carpet cleaner.
Also walk around your house in white socks there might be a place she lays daily that has nest and that’s why she’s getting them. Trust me buy frontline.

Frontline or Advantage. You can get it at PetsRx.com or other petmeds places or your vet. They kill the fleas and eggs. I have 4 cats, trust me. LOL

Yes get front line or advantage..the others are a waste of money. you may have to call out professionally to spray your house.
Good luck

One other thing you can do for the house. Buy a box of Boraxo…you know the stuff with the 20 Mule Team Train on the front? Sprinkle this stuff all over your carpes, pay special attention to the baseboards around the house. Believe it or not, they hide in them. Don’t forget under the bed, especially if she lays under them at all. Don’t clean it up right away. It will feel gritty when you are walking on it. It will take a few days and may require additional treatments. This stuff sucks the moisture out of the fleas and they die. You do need to be sure she is on one of the professional flea treatments, and keep her on it monthly.
Good Luck!!

Thanks for all the tips! Trish, I think we may now (finally) have it under control but if not (double knocking on wood) I will do that for sure, thanks!
