I jinxed my kid
After deciding to break the rules and keep my kids out of school for camping this weekend The Snitch got sick last night. I have my “excuse” all ready to go round and round with the district, telling them they had a stomach bug which caused vomiting and diarrhea, something that had to run its course, right? Well guess who started puking at 11:40 last night? And then ended up on the toilet not long after? Yup, I jinxed my kid.
After getting up and down with her a few times I eventually felt her come into my bed and tell me she’s all better. Just like that, done getting sick. She’s really tired today but still going to school, no reason to keep her home since its a minimum day.
Talk about karma, right? lol Well I’m glad she’s over it so we can go camping without any incident. *crossing my fingers*

I’m rebelling!!!!
Do you remember this post, from last year? The school put my kids on an attendance program and said they can’t miss without a doctor’s note? Remember how pissed I was? Well we’ve been good parents all year and my kids have finally learned that they can go to school if they’re not feeling so hot in the morning and see if they can make it through the day, if not go to the office and I’ll go pick them up.
All year long Drama Queen has only missed two days of school, one with a note from her doctor and the other the nurse let me keep her home. The Snitch has missed a few extra days but has returned with a doctor’s note, just as they required of us.
Well this Friday we go on our annual camping trip and my kids were going to go to school for a bit in the morning then each would come down with a fever less case of Fake-a-litus and call me to get them at first recess so we could head up to join our family campers by mid afternoon. Today I decided to man up and say SCREW YOU to the district! I’m keeping my kids out of school that day, without a doctor’s note, and we’re all leaving together at 5am!
Oh yeah, I’m wild like that.
I just decided that #1 they haven’t missed much school. #2 school is almost out so what’s the harm. #3 there are just some illnesses that kids need to stay home from that don’t warrant a trip to the doctor’s because there’s nothing that can be done for them…like a stomach virus. Uh-huh. We all know that a stomach bug just has to run its course and not even the doctor’s can do anything about it. We also know that once one sibling has the bug its highly contagious and the other siblings will get it also.
So there. I’m rebelling. I’m breaking the rules and I’m not thinking twice about it because I have my defense speech all ready for the district bastards if we get called on it! SCREW YOU! lol

Our life is always busy, it seems
Well we survived Vegas this weekend and I came home with a new daughter-in-law and a beautiful Coach purse! lol We went to Vegas for Mister Jr’s wedding, it was a quick ceremony but I cried anyway. My new DIL is a wonderful young woman (and only two years younger than me) who we welcome into our family with open arms. Sadly, no one from her family came to the wedding because her parents won’t recognize their marriage until its done in a Catholic church. So they’re planning a church wedding next year.
This weekend is Mother’s Day weekend and we’re going to be busy again. Friday night we’re getting together at my parents house to finalize our camping menu, collect money for the groceries and tie up all the camping plans. Saturday its a girls night for drinks and chilling at my sister’s house then Sunday is Mom’s day and I’m having the family over here for a BBQ.
The following weekend is my mom’s birthday and I’m not sure what to get her for a gift, I’ve got some thinking to do.
The last weekend is when we go camping! We look forward to this all year, we have such a great time. This year the rest of the family is actually going camping with us, they haven’t gone with us in about 8-10 years so its going to be lots of fun, lots more kids, too.
So that is our non-stop, busy life. No wonder I have nearly no time to work out. lol
