I hardly bid on ebay anymore, don’t know why but I just don’t. Last night I was having a glass of wine and went on looking for inexpensive Nintendo DS cases for my girls gifts. While on I stumbled on an item at a RIDICULOUSLY low price and placed a bid. Ever since then I’ve been nervous about it. I’ve read and reread the auction several times. I even woke up several times thinking about it but resisted getting up and checking my email in the middle of the night.
I was outbid so I placed another bid. Still RIDICULOUSLY low for what its going for in the stores. I don’t even need it, I’ve got the same thing at home already, but with the bid price so low I figured I could put it right back on ebay and make some Christmas shopping money by charging half of what the stores charge. Or I can see if my friend wants to buy it off me for her son. Then of course I can’t put the auction here for you to see and verify that I’m reading it correctly because I don’t want you to steal it from me, either! Oh the stress of ebay!
I want to win this acution because its an awesome deal, but because of the stress I secretly hope someone outbids me. I almost always have bidders remorse when playing around on ebay. And its worse than buyers remorse because at least in the mall you can return your stuff if you really have a change of heart, you know? Oh the stress. I’ll let you know how it turns out for me.
ETA: The bastard canceled the auction and our bids! I was bidding on a new in box, w/receipt, Nintendo Wii w/extra games and controllers for almost $100! I hate it when that crap happens.

I do the same thing!! I once spent $41 on an old paper doll that I had as a child. I loved this particular paper doll and when I saw it, I HAD to ahve it….but I NEVER should have paid $41 for it!!! and then you get into a bidding war with someone at the very last minute…it can be so addicting!

I had to give up my ebay. It was causing me to go broke. I hope you get it though.

OMG, I know what you mean. I watch Todd calmly snipe someone on eBay, and I just don’t have skillz that mad.
Though my constant fear, when buying online, is that I’ll get something cheaper somewhere else, you know? It drives me crazy. I am totally that chick on the orbitz.com commercial who is afraid to commit to buying airline tix b/c she knows that the price will go down roughly .00003 seconds after she buys it.

I have banned Trish from using eBay. She won the bid on a DS game for our son…
The seller was in England and just the shipping alone was going to cost more than the game itself.
Good luck to ya, Cece!

I have stopped using ebay too because it can become so dangerous!! I know what you mean about buyers remorse though. I get it all the time when I bid on something.

Omu, bidding IS stressful! I’ve come to love Amazon now.
Gino, I’m going to give you my xmas list to ebay shop for me.
Beth, there is a childhood book I want but just can’t spend the $$ to make the buy.
Carrie, there was a time when I had stuff being delivered a few times a week! Mister was like NOW what did you buy???
Beej, I’m the same way. I just KNOW I’m going to see a commercial for half price once I press enter!
Slick, I hate it when that happens. lol
Heidi, shoppers guilt is the worst.

A long time ago, a friend of mine showed me a program that watches these bids for you. Then at the last second, it reads the highest bid and bids automatically and electronically exactly $1 over the highest bid. I forget what the name of the computer program was, but I know they are out there.
