For the upcoming holiday season, that is? What?! Its only July! I can hear some of you say that right now. While others, my girlfriends, say Fucken Cece I wondered when this was going to come up! lol
I know there are some people who don’t plan anything until the week before, if that, right? Then there are others like me, who get a case of OCD when it comes to planning ANYTHING. And the holidays are no different, my friend. Especially when you have a family as large as mine, you need to keep track of your days, weeks, months, birthday’s and holidays in order to survive!
Did you know that there are only 99 days until Halloween, 127 days until Thanksgiving and 155 days until Christmas! Yup, before we know it Summer will be gone and Fall will be here. Will you be ready?
Not surprising to some, I’ve already began some small Christmas saving and shopping. I really hate not being on top of things and organized. When do you start your shopping? Are you like me, one of those crazy people, who get out and start on Black Friday? Do you wait until the week of and hope to get everything on clearance? And how large is your Christmas gift list? Are you all about the gift cards or would you rather put thought into each gift and chose it according to the recipient?
I really love this time of year, getting the kids ready for school, soon we’ll be shopping for Halloween ideas and then before we know it BAM Thanksgiving will be here and Cece will be either in a super jolly ass mood or a cranky bitch because of the family stress. But I really do love the holiday season. So I need you to do something for me, ok? Come the holiday season, when I start bitching and griping, remind me of this post and just how much I love Christmas and look forward to it, in July. Then tell me to STFU and go make tamales and start wrapping the GAZILLION gifts we usually have under our tree! Thanks. I knew I could count on you!

I found that if I shop too early I’ll forget that I bought those things. IThen I’ll find them later, and it’s like Christmas for me. Though my MIL shops all year round, when she sees something on sale.
I start to formulate gift ideas in October, then I’ll buy them in November, and like to wrap them up right after I buy them. Todd likes to wrap on Christmas Eve and I am trying to break him of that b/c that’s when we celebrate with my family.

Beej my MIL shops all year, too. I try to do that but those gifts end up being last minute bday gifts as needed! lol We begin wrapping the 2nd week in December, a little each night, this way its all done before xmas & we have time to enjoy our time off with the family. Oh yeah, and cook tamales! lol

Since we basically do the exact same thing every year for the holidays there isn’t much planning needed. We go up to my sister’s for the whole week of Thanksgiving and then Christmas is just usually me and my mother. We keep things simple and quiet too. Mostly Amazon gift cards. LOL

You know me, I will be late for my own funeral but you know what, just watching you makes me excited.

I love Halloween, but am not much on the other holidays. There is never enough time or money to do them right.
I do love the fall of the year though and since I have vacation plans for the third week of Sept. I am ready for it!

I don’t exchange Christmas gifts with that many people, which makes my shopping pretty simple. My parents, sister and AS are easy to buy for because I know them so well. Then I’m assigned a random cousin, which requires a bit more thought, but still – not complicated!

You are a sick and twisted individual
I have picked up a few little things that go in stockings but no major shopping yet. I’ve been known to go out on Black Friday but only if something that is on someone’s list is on mega-sale. Otherwise I do it in bits and pieces after work or on weekends.
