The other day we had a girl in our department who had a birthday. She got to work and her cubicle was decorated with streamers and balloons. I want to say one of her friends came in early to do it.
Know what pisses me off? My birthday is in July so I’ve never been one of those kids who was in school when it was my birthday so that meant my mom never came to class with cup cakes and shit like that. No, my birthday came and went and none of my school friends knew any different.
I thought when I was grown up and working that it would be different. But its not. I’ve never came into work and found my cubicle decorated. No balloons and shit for Cece. Even when my sister worked with me I don’t remember her decorating my cubicle. That bitch. She might have once, but if I don’t remember it what does that say?
Am I doing something wrong? Am I not fucken nice enough or popular enough to get balloons and shit at my cube for my birthday? Or in order to get shit like that I have to be the office social butterfly?
So here’s what I propose, I say on July 17, 2008 at 12pm Pacific time, you all get on your computers and throw me an Internet birthday party! Mark your calendars, Ho’s, and don’t say you weren’t invited! I won’t tell you what size I wear but I will tell you I do accept gift cards.
P.S. Its a BYOB party!

You know I hear ya. My family does all that for everyone except me. And if they are waiting for Paul to get on it…*ROTFLMAO*!
See, this is why we need to start celebrating all the birthdays when we get together each year. That way we are all together. This spread out all across the country stuff sucks ass.

I’d totally decorate for you. In fact, I awarded you the Rockin’ Girl Blogger award…so that you can decorate your blog with it.
See how good a friend I am?

Aw, I’m sorry Cece. I have never worked or gone to school on my birthday in my life. That is my gift to myself and my parents had no problem with it. So I don’t know what it is like either. I’ll be there for your party. Shit, maybe I will even take off work for the occasion. lol

I feel your pain! My birthday is April 1st, so it was always on Spring Break every year…no cupcakes, no school party, and people are always going out of town and more excited about that than my birthday
But at least they weren’t around to tease me about being born on April Fool’s Day!!! If I was there, I’d decorate your cube – I’m good about doing things like that

I am SO coming to your online birthday party. I am July 24th, so I get the shaft too. Christmas babies may complain, but we all know that summer babies get screwed!

As a fellow cancer girl I feel your pain about the no cupcakes for your birthday at school. At least nowadays they divide the summer birthdays up and celebrate them throughout the year.
I’m the same way at work though, and ya want to know why? Because we don’t SOCIALIZE at work. We come in, do our job, and go home. No one knows our personal shit.

No one celebrates my birthday at school either, and we even have a list hanging in the teachers lounge of when birthdays are. I guess grown ups try to ignore birthdays to avoid getting older

Sassy Momma
Aww, I’ll be around that day to party with you. I’m with Sue we should celebrate everyone’s b-day at our get together! Nothing is ever really done for mine either. Hell most of the time my family actually forgets about it.
