I want to bake a cake but don’t want it to be a boring ol’ box of Betty Crocker plain ass cake mix. So I need recipe suggestions. Any flavor cake. Something sort of easy would be nice since Mister is the baker and I’m not. Anything with booze as an ingredient is a plus. Something summery is also nice. If you can’t supply me with a booze filled summery cake how about a summer cake and suggest a booze to wash it down with? lol
And go!

Sorry I can’t be of any help here. Although I love to bake, I ah have never baked a cake from scratch:( I didn’t believe brownies could be made from scratch and come out good until I tried them. Mmmmm. Yum.
Good Luck in your recipe search:)

I’m assuming that y’all like raspberries.
24 graham crackers, crushed
1/3 cup butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 (6 ounce) package raspberry flavored gelatin mix
1 cup boiling water
15 ounces frozen raspberries
20 large marshmallows
1/3 cup milk
1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mix graham cracker wafer crumbs, butter and brown sugar until well combined. Set aside 1/4 cup of this mixture for a topping and press the remainder into one 9×13 inch pan.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Dissolve raspberry gelatin in the boiling water and add the frozen raspberries, stirring until melted. Chill until partially set and spread on wafer base.
Melt marshmallows with the milk. When cool, fold in whipped cream and spread on top of raspberry mixture. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Chill for 3-4 hours before serving.

does it have to be a cake? I have a great cream puff recipe!
I only make cake from scratch one in a long while. I do make my own whipping cream though and have spiked it with rum or burbon

Augs, something to serve as a desert for an adult’s bday. How easy are cream puffs?

What you got against Betty Crocker? And PS – with a name like Betty Crocker she must have been born an alcoholic.

LOL
You could make a cake from a mix, bake it,poke holes in it,drizzle it in Malibu then frost it with a coconut icing???(add coconut to store bought along with a little vanilla)
Best of both worlds!

Just telling it like it is
I suggest drinking some cocktails, beer, wine or hard moonshine before opening the box Start drinking alcohol, read directions and get everything out…It could be different…but then again once you finish the drinking you’ll be be so lit that any cake will taste delicious!

Okay I got this one last night at WW.
Angel food cake. (You could even do the fat free) Mix a container of cool whip with some white chocolate pudding. Smear that on the cake and top with blueberries and strawberries. (If you use fat free coolwhip and pudding, it is only 4 points a serving.)

Hope I’m not too late on this one…I’ve got a great summer recipe. It’s called Chocolate Eclair Cake
1 box of chocolate graham crackers (must be chocolate!)
2 packages of French Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
3 Cups of milk (I use skim)
1 tub of chocolate frosting
1 8 oz. tub of cool whip
mix together the cool whip, pudding mix and milk with a hand blender until well blended. Put a layer of graham crackers in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan, top with half of the pudding mixture. Top with another layer of graham crackers, then the rest of the pudding and finish with a layer of graham crackers on top. Put the tub of frosting in the microwave for 30 seconds to soften. Stir it up and pour it over the top and try to make it even so the whole thing is covered. If you want to you can put some colorful sprinkles on top to make it cute. Then you just put it in the fridge for a few hours and serve…YUMMY!!!
