Chicano Rap
You know me and my music, right? You know I listen to and enjoy just about everything except Country (sorry Carrie!). Well I’ve got a weakness for Chicano Rap. Something about Chicano Rap that just gets under my skin. And lately Lil Rob is my guy.
He’s not the kind of guy I’d go for, now. But back in the days, hell yeah! (I’m embarrassed to even admit that! lol) But there is something about his voice, trying not to sound like Paris Hilton, that’s so hot.

Take my money why dontcha!
This morning was our big registration day! Today The Snitch is officially registered and enrolled into Kindergarten! *sobbing* My baby is a big girl now.
In the past Kinder registration was a true nightmare. Seriously. Our district has always had two Kinder classes, a morning session from 7:50-11:15 and an afternoon class that released the students close to 3pm. Well, naturally, everyone wants their child enrolled in the morning class so the registration nightmare begins with a LONG ASS LINE of mom’s standing outside of the office trying to get in because its a first come first pick thing they do.
Thankfully shit has changed. Now once you go in and pick up your registration packet, which I did at the beginning of this month, they give you the business card of the woman who will enroll your child. They instruct you that upon completion of ALL paperwork and any doctor’s signatures needed that you are to call and make an appointment with said advisor to complete the enrollment process.
Sweet! Organization is what I crave. Not only because its much easier and less stressful this way but because I think I’ve got a touch of OCD and I need to get shit done NOW.
Mister took The Snitch to the doctor for her shots, physical, TB test and reading. He took her, this week, to the dentist and now she’s all set! Woohoo!
I was DETERMINED to go in there all prepared. CA state ID? Check! Two utility bills for proof of address? Check! Birth certificate? Check! Paperwork signed by dentist? Check! Immunization records up to date? Check! TB test results? Check! Signed form from her physical? Check! Uhhh…no check. I forgot to flag that form for him to get signed from the pediatrician. Fuuuuck.
I put in a call to her doctor’s office and they were most helpful! They will request her records for me so they can sign the necessary form. But, and there’s always a but, its going to cost me an additional $15 to have this form filled out.
Fifteen MORE dollars? Are you kidding me?? I know $15 isn’t going to break me, but $15 in addition to the $20 co-payment Mister already paid, just sucks. I wonder if they would have charged us that $15 if I had remembered to send it with him in the first place? But what can I do? I can argue that fact but in the end guess what? I’ll come out looking like a cheap, mad ass mom and STILL have to pay the $15 right? Yup. So its easier to hand them my $15 and just bend over.

I need a recipe!
I want to bake a cake but don’t want it to be a boring ol’ box of Betty Crocker plain ass cake mix. So I need recipe suggestions. Any flavor cake. Something sort of easy would be nice since Mister is the baker and I’m not. Anything with booze as an ingredient is a plus. Something summery is also nice. If you can’t supply me with a booze filled summery cake how about a summer cake and suggest a booze to wash it down with? lol

Totally disgusting
Last night, while preparing dinner, Mister and I were bullshitting. I’m not sure where the topic came from but he was laughing and telling me a story about the other supervisor at his job.
He was telling me that the guy is married and is/was fooling around with a female employee. He proceeded to tell me, specifically, of one night when this guy called Mister and said he was going to be late for work that he had a personal going on at the moment. Mister thought nothing of it and just went in earlier.
Then the guy calls back and tells him he’s not going to come in at all, due to the same personal problem. Mister is thinking What sort of problem can you have at 4am?
The next morning when the guy shows up for work Mister asked him What happened to you yesterday? He said the guy sort of smiled, laughed and shrugged. Mister says to him You got caught, didn’t you?
Come to find out when this guy got to work his wife and girlfriend were outside waiting for him. Yeah he got busted alright, but the thing is he was with another woman!
Mister was laughing, shaking his head and said to me That fucker is crazy.
I didn’t find the humor in it. Actually, I was rather disgusted by the man. All I said to Mister was I hope I don’t have to start driving to your job at 4am and check up on your ass! Lucky for him he said the right words, No, baby, you don’t have to check up on me I’m not stupid like that guy!
But I got to thinking, when did I change? When did something like this turn my stomach? When I was 23 and single I was one of those girls, that’s how I met and hooked up with Mister! I find cheating disgusting and selfish. Personally, I would rather have Mister leave me than humiliate me, and my family, by cheating on me.

Conversations with kids
Last night I took my girls walking, again. We were heading into Long Beach to the grocery store. With the kids in tow, that is about a 45+ minute walk when I can do it alone in 30′ish minutes. So we talk while walking.
I was walking a little ahead of them, then The Snitch to my right and behind her was Drama Queen. The whole way Snitch kept looking back and looking back. Eventually this was our conversation:
S: Mom, I keep feeling like someone is behind me.
M: Well your sister is walking behind you.
S: No, not her. Someone else is behind me.
M: Maybe its Grandma Irene’s Angel following you?
S: {smiling now} Oh yeah! It IS Grandma! And I think Lucy (our dog who died in November) is with her because I keep feeling fur on the back of my legs!
I couldn’t help but to smile. That made my night.

The weekend just flew by!
We got back from Vegas about 2:30 this afternoon. My dad was hauling ass and it only took us 3.5 hours to get home. There was a mean ol’ accident on the 15 North. A pick up truck flipped onto its side. It must have just happened, too. Scary, but it didn’t appear to have any injuries. I wish I was in my Vue because I have Onstar and I could have alerted emergency services. Oh well.
Well, we got to State Line on Friday morning at 9am. It took us just 3 hours to get there. We stopped at one of the hotel’s there and had breakfast, buffet of course. As soon as breakfast was over we walked into the outlet mall. *drooling* I bought myself a cute little Coach purse!
When we were only 30 minutes on the road my dad says to my mom Let me ask you a question, did you pick up the money that was on the dresser? Mom says No. I thought you did. He said No, why would I? You always make sure we have money. {silence} Then he says GREAT guess what? We’re heading to Vegas and we have NO MONEY with us! Sitting up front with them was not very comfortable at the moment, so I kept my head down and continued reading.
Eventually he calmed down when we reminded him that there are banks all over the place and they could pull cash when we see a bank.
We didn’t stay at a hotel this time. I reserved a condo for the 5 of us and it worked out nicely. It was just 1 mile west of the strip. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths was a perfect place to stay and we only paid $270 for the weekend. Not bad.
The wedding was alright. It was out in Boulder City so that was about a 40 minute drive for us. My dad had packed up our ice chest because we didn’t know what to expect for later. So we get to the chapel about 45-50 minutes before the wedding starts. We’re all sitting in the truck, with the A/C running, because its fricken 110 outside! We’ve got all this time to kill, its hot and we’re just sitting there so what do you think we do? Yup, crack open a few beers and drink while we’re waiting! lol That’s Mexican’s for you I tell ya.
The wedding was over in under an hour, closer to 35-40 minutes. (yay!) And the reception was back in Vegas. Come to find out it was actually just 5 minutes from our condo. That was cool because we got a wee bit tipsy at the reception. lol Can I tell you that the 3 hour and 15 minute reception was sort of boring. That is, until Dad and I began feeling our buzz! lol Wedding receptions are much more fun when you’re drunk. LMAO
Right before we were going to start heading out to the reception I happened to look down at my wedding ring and that is when I saw it, the center stone in my new wedding ring was missing. Oh shit. I can’t tell you what it felt like to discover that. I pulled Mister to the side and, with sadness, showed him. He sighed and said That’s alright, its insured. He told my dad what happened and my dad told us to go look in the chapel. Mister kept saying We’re never going to find it. Right before we left we checked the ladies room and guess what? We FOUND IT! I shit you not! Right there on the floor was the diamond that fell out of my ring! So he’s got my ring ready to take in for repair. Thank God it didn’t get lost. I couldn’t go through that again!
The night ended with Mister and I just sitting on the porch steps talking and chilling. I have to say I really love that guy. He’s got a nack for being the calm force in my life. When I get upset and start crying there is something about him that he can just sit, put his arm around me, talk to me and just listen. Before I know it I’m no longer upset. I love him for that.
We got up early, packed and left the condo at 8:15 this morning. From there we went to The Orleans for breakfast and ate a kick ass breakfast! We hung out at the hotel for a few hours before we got on the road at 11:00.
Mister and I had made plans to go back to Vegas again for his birthday this year. After spending so much time at the Orleans that is where he wants to stay in December. Checking online for the 3 nights we want its only $39 a night! Talk about a deal. So it looks like that’s our plan now.

Las Vegas is calling
Gone to Vegas, be back on Monday!
I’m not sure how much gambling we’ll be doing considering we’re going for a wedding. Luckily we’ve got all day Friday to act da fools ’round town. Oh and we’re leaving super ass early so my mom and I can hit the Coach outlet at State-line on the way into town. lol My dad and Mister tried to protest that stop, they lost.

Summer summer summertime!
Ahhh, its FINALLY beginning to feel like summer in beautiful ol’ California! I’m talking about 80+ degrees a day. We’re sleeping with our ceiling fans on at night. I’ve got doors and windows open until 10 or 11pm almost each night. Its wonderful!
The girls’ will be out of school next week and that means I don’t have to get up as early nor do I have to hassle with getting Drama Queen to bed and listen to her ass whine in the morning because she’s tired!
With summer comes trips and activities! Woohoo! This weekend we’re heading into Vegas for my cousin’s wedding. In 15 days I’m going to Idaho. Then my birthday is soon after. Following that will be Drama Queen’s birthday. Then camping again. And of course, we’ve got the Labor Day weekend! Lots to do!
