Do not try to quit smoking on a night when Mister is bbq’ing and the beer is flowing. You will, and did, fail miserably. Use your head, girl! Now finish that pack and quit when there are no temptations, like at the beginning of the week.
That’s all.

for me there’s ALWAYS temptation. either it’s because I just smoked a bowl and crave one or there’s a beer in my hand or I’m at the bar and seeing people smoke all around me makes me want one… I can’t win!!

Yesterday was my 2 month mark. You can do it. The first few days is what sucks. I had to quit beer for awhile and switched to wine. What about the patch? It helped me a lot. I have no problems now. I thought the ship would have really been bad because I smoked like a chimney last time but nope.
You can do it!

Frankly, I’m surprised your lungs haven’t abandoned ship after vacation. I think I’ve had 4 since we got home, and one I crushed out less than halfway into it because it was *blech*.

What’s weird is no one in my immediate family smokes so there shouldn’t be temptation. Its the partying that temps me.
Carrie, I was wondering how you did. Good for you. I think I will have to quit beer for a bit in order to do this. I thought about the patch, but I’m not really a heavy smoker. I can have one or two in a night & be good. I don’t smoke at work. Its drinking that gets me.
Mind, Wed. night in Vegas, I came to the room & threw away the rest of my $6 pack of smokes. Two days later I opened the pack I forgot at home! lol De de Deee
My dad has been on me to quit. And now w/my gma’s Cancer diagnosis I try not to smoke around him b/c I don’t want to hear it. Even Mister, casually, suggested I quit. Hmm, wonder if I can get him to not smoke cigars.

Good for you on trying to quit! I smoked once upon a time and quit when I got pregnant with Emily and haven’t touched one since. You can do it…but you are right about waiting till the temptations have passed!

You know, ever since I switched to those Nat Sherman’s, I don’t smoke nearly as much (except when vacationing, apparently). And now that I can’t get them here for less than $8.50 a pack, I just don’t buy them. So I end up only having a few a week, if that. I just don’t like regular smokes anymore. Which is probably a good thing.

Are you hungover? Is that why you haven’t posted?

God, Mind, that would make me stop fo’sho! $8.50 pack?? That’s like buying a baeg of crack, yo! lol
Carrie, can you believe I’m NOT hungover today! lol My folks came over, as usual, but since we partied w/Sassy the night before I was SO not in a drinking mood. I was very sleepy & couldn’t wait for them to leave! Soon as they did I set the coffee, washed up, put the kids to bed & went to sleep w/the Snitch (ahhh..snuggles & kid snores). I feel GOOD today!
I’ve been working this morning…ok, uploading & ordering pix from our vacation, but I’ll post in a bit. lol
