~13 PLACES THE KIDS LIKE TO VISIT~

1.
The movies. Whenever we do the movies its always the matinee. Movies are so damn expensive even the matinee costs us $25-$30 for the 4 of us.

******************

2. The drive in movies! There is only one drive in theatre left near us. During the summer months we frequent that theatre about twice a month. We take Mister’s Suburban, load up the back with an ice chest, pizza, peanuts & licorice, juice boxes, lounge chairs, pillows and blankets! We sit outside while the kids have the whole back of the truck to themselves. My sister and I will have a few beers too! There’s nothing like watching a new movie, at the theatre, while drinking a beer in the warm summer night.

******************

3. The lake. Since we enjoy camping we like to scout out new camping locations. That means we’ve got to plan day trips to the lake and spend the day there. The kids love it.

******************

4. Disneyland, of course! We only live 15 minutes from Disneyland.

******************

5. El Rachito restaurant. This place is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Long Beach. It has the BEST Sunday brunch EVER. They’ve got EVERYTHING you can want for $13. The kids would rather eat there than places like Denny’s! LOL

******************

6. The Swapmeet. After breakfast at El Ranchito we’ll drive over to the Swapmeet to walk off the big breakfast we just had. We give the kids $5 each and they get to buy whatever little junk they can with their $5. Its not like a flea-market. The stuff at the Swapmeet is brand new & not used junk. They’ve also got a snack bar area that not only serves food, but they have a beer stand and a live band that plays every Sat. & Sun. The band JAMS something fierce. You’ll see people dancing, hanging out & enjoying the Sunday sun. You will also see a lot of Raider fans, too. LOL

******************

7. Downtown Long Beach. They love it there because there is a carousel and a Ferris wheel. They usually get to pick one to ride on. Then there’s an Cold Stone Creamery where they get an ice cream treat. There’s also a HUGE Boarder’s book store, which they enjoy too. While down there we can walk along the shore and the kids can see sea lions playing in the Pacific. There are TONS of restaurants there too. Its a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon for about $20 or so. Oh & because of all the walking, the kids come home TIRED! *lol*

******************

8. Aunt Chris’ house. My aunt lives in our complex and has 2 kids close in age to our girls so they love visiting. Plus my aunt is such a nice mom and lets the kids do fun things and have good snacks, so of course the kids enjoy their time there.

*****************

9. Camping! Oh man do my kids love camping! They get to be dirty all day long. My dad lets them eat just about whatever they want. They get to spend the day, running around in their bathing suits, at the lake all day.

******************

10. Swimming at Grampy’s house. They love going swimming at my parents house.

******************

11. Baskin Robins & Starbucks! What kid doesn’t enjoy a visit to the ice cream store? But to a coffee house? Yup. My girls’ look forward to a Starbucks visit because its right next to Baskin Robins. *lol* If we don’t make it for ice cream, they still like Starbucks because they get a milk or juice from the fridge.

*******************

12. Walking at the park. During the warmer months I like to go walking at the park, in the evenings. The girls ask to come with me. We load up their bikes and while I walk they’re riding in front of me. When I’m done with my walk I let them play on the play ground for a bit while I cool down.

********************

13. Target! I swear if they hear I’m going to Target they scramble to put their shoes on and go with me. *lol*
