~13 PLACES THE KIDS LIKE TO VISIT~ ****************** ****************** ****************** 4. Disneyland, of course! We only live 15 minutes from Disneyland. ****************** 5. El Rachito restaurant. This place is an authentic Mexican restaurant in Long Beach. It has the BEST Sunday brunch EVER. They’ve got EVERYTHING you can want for $13. The kids would rather eat there than places like Denny’s! LOL ****************** ****************** 7. Downtown Long Beach. They love it there because there is a carousel and a Ferris wheel. They usually get to pick one to ride on. Then there’s an Cold Stone Creamery where they get an ice cream treat. There’s also a HUGE Boarder’s book store, which they enjoy too. While down there we can walk along the shore and the kids can see sea lions playing in the Pacific. There are TONS of restaurants there too. Its a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon for about $20 or so. Oh & because of all the walking, the kids come home TIRED! *lol* ****************** 8. Aunt Chris’ house. My aunt lives in our complex and has 2 kids close in age to our girls so they love visiting. Plus my aunt is such a nice mom and lets the kids do fun things and have good snacks, so of course the kids enjoy their time there. ***************** 9. Camping! Oh man do my kids love camping! They get to be dirty all day long. My dad lets them eat just about whatever they want. They get to spend the day, running around in their bathing suits, at the lake all day. ****************** 10. Swimming at Grampy’s house. They love going swimming at my parents house. ****************** 11. Baskin Robins & Starbucks! What kid doesn’t enjoy a visit to the ice cream store? But to a coffee house? Yup. My girls’ look forward to a Starbucks visit because its right next to Baskin Robins. *lol* If we don’t make it for ice cream, they still like Starbucks because they get a milk or juice from the fridge. ******************* 12. Walking at the park. During the warmer months I like to go walking at the park, in the evenings. The girls ask to come with me. We load up their bikes and while I walk they’re riding in front of me. When I’m done with my walk I let them play on the play ground for a bit while I cool down. ******************** 13. Target! I swear if they hear I’m going to Target they scramble to put their shoes on and go with me. *lol* Links to other Thursday Thirteens! |

Did you say Target? Dude, I’m scrambling to put my shoes on now!
I love that your kids get to do so many outdoor activities. Kids don’t get enough “classic fun” these days. I want to raise my kids one day like you raise yours.

Hurry up, Lindsey, the sale is almost over!
We try to do as much w/them as we can. Growing up our parents were always working so we didn’t get to do as much as the girls do.
Carrie, Yup, sea lions! We took The Snitch on a harbor cruise around Long Beach one day while my cousin was visiting from NM & we saw TONS of sea lions just chillin on the buoy’s. Very cool.
As for the drive in? Yup. Just pack up the cooler & don’t cause a scene & you’re good to go! On time there I opened the door to refill my cup & the bag w/the empty bottles fell out & I had to chace fucken beer bottles down the hill. My sister LAUGHED her ass off at me.
Hi David, thanks for stopping by.

Craze
Jacob has never been to the drive in movies. We only have one “somewhere” around here. I’ll have to take him this summer! And of course, we’ll be coming out to visit you and go to Disneyland someday.

I was going to call him a deprived child, Craze, but my kids just got to know what the DI’s are last summer. LOL Its just not their generation’s thing. That’s so sad, huh?
Oh yeah, we were suppose to do the D-land thing w/the kids.

Mind, I don’t doubt that they would be hollorin’ to be goin’ to your house, too.
Joy, know what it is? The dollar aisle. It takes us 10 minutes for us to get past the entrance!
MsL. Seriously, that restaurant is THEE BEST around. For Mister’s 40th birthday I had a BIG party for him & I catered food from that restaurant. Thee best, I tell you!
Jen, we try to get annual passes for our family to Disneyland. They rape you at the ticket counter for a one day admission. If you get passes, you go 2.5 times you’ve already gotten your money’s worth! And being in So Cal, we’ve got good weather til November, we get lots of uses from our passes. I work a few min from D-land, and on Friday nights, Mister will pick me up from work & just the 2 of us will go to D-Land for a few hours. Ahhh…life in the big city.
